fill in the blank friday

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is,   pee. lol. i'm not even gonna lie, half the time my eyes are barely open walking into the bathroom (and yes, I have ran smack dab into the actual bathroom door, lol)   .

2.   I can hardly wait for    my daughter to call me to come pick her up after her cheer tryout happening right. this. very. minute! eeeek!!   .

3.  The quickest way to my heart is    chocolate     because     it makes EVERYTHING better... usually  .

4. A little known fact about me is that     (so, maybe unknown to blogland but not necessarily to irl) I sometimes maybe alot actually like, totally talk like a valley girl! lol. I mean, c'mon... I totally grew up in the IE... So Cal baby! lol (maybe a more known fact, totally a dork too, hehe) .

5. The best part about my job is     that I work for family so it's pretty much fun and games and laughter and silliness layered with stress and hard work and crankballs somedays, layered by love and appreciation and gratitude. Yeah... .

6. Something I just couldn't live without is     coffee. I mean, I suppose I could... I've tried it... it's not so pretty. lol .

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is   run for hours and hours, like Forest Gump, lol. I really really wanna run, man .

in a perfect world, everyone would care...

i *finally* saw the Hunger Games

And so, here are my kids... waiting for the movie to start. Lemme just say that as I was getting ready to take this pic Bubba says "Wait!" and stuffs popcorn in his mouth... yep, that's my little goofball.

The movie was not nearly as graphic as so many have made it out to be. I think they did a great job keeping the movie as close to the book as possible given the time frame of a movie (this was an entire two and a half hours long). I teared up a few times, I giggled a few times, I nearly jumped into the row behind me when the damn 'muts' came out of the woods (my kids found that hysterical). Overall, two thumbs up! The book is always better, but this movie was really great too!

/// Pro's and Con's ///

+++ Lenny Kravitz as Cinna... yes, please... times ten!
Source: google.com via Nicci on Pinterest

+++ (Spoiler Alert) I'm glad that they were able to write in Katniss putting Cato out of his misery when the 'muts' where attacking him, instead of waiting all night listening to his whimpers and pleads to die while the 'muts' munched on him and tore him to pieces. That part really disturbed me in the book, like, for days.

+++ Effie Trinkett's clothes are absolutely how I would dress every single day if I could. The makeup and the hair... it's like candyland for realz!

- - - I did not care for the style of filming... the camera bounced around, blurred in and out and went from screen to screen and back and forth... I'm quite confident that is why both myself and the hubs had serious headaches afterwards.

- - - I had Haymitch casted as Oliver Platt (for some odd reason) when reading the book

- - - They changed the whole way that Katniss received the Mockingjay pin... why? I liked the way in the book better, I thought it gave the pin added significance, especially when you read later read who gave it to her and all the background there and how that links into her mother... but whatevs.

language warning... but HAD to share

Language Warning Now...

I grew up in the 90s... Tupac Shakur was the IT man on the West Coast (talkin' to a Cali girl, here). When he died I remember exactly where I was... I was a new driver, and I was heading east on Walnut Avenue getting ready to pass through Euclid Avenue... Carls Jr was on my left side...
It was a sad sad day for Cali people, and really people all over the US... I remember the vibe at school... the news was devastating.
This video is going bananas all over the internet, and for good reason. I literally had chills the entire time I watched this... I've watched it, like, ten times now, and I still get full body chills. Technology is freakin' amazing! Language Warning... it's Tupac, so ya know there's 'bout to be some F-bombs dropped.

6. A person who made me smile this week was    the dentist yesterday, totally complimented me... told me I didn't look old enough to have kids my age... awwwww, hehe .

7.  The most delicious thing I ate all week was   this morning's mushroom and spinach egg white omlett with mozarella... um, yum .

movies I want to seeeee...

What movies do you wanna see??

updates and such

Oh my, life is sure crazy beautiful.

Easter
Easter was spent at Moms... she's laid up with a bum leg, and my daughter is laid up with a bum arm, so that made our holiday weekend interesting. lol. The Easter Bunny came to our house, and to Grandma's house. It's funny how this year the 'older kids' didn't even get into their baskets until I asked them to. Hmmm, not excited for gifts? I might need to call that Easter Bunny and tell him to skip our house next year (Ahem, I know you're reading this, Courtney). This year we hid a whopping 68 eggs! We only have 5 kids... I swear that's a new record. hehe. Easter always makes me miss my Dad even more. I don't know why this is. The last Easter I remember it was hot in our backyard and he couldn't be on his feet for very long. He sat down on a chair in the shade, and this was so bizarre to me because my Dad was always very active at Easter. He loved dying eggs, and I'm not exaggerating that... he'd sit with a whole dozen and make them double colors and write things on them and draw crosses on them. He loved hiding the eggs, and loved watching them find them. Of course he always helped the little ones out. I can barely remember last Easter, so this one I felt the absence of him quite a bit more. Thankfully, the reason we celebrate Easter is the reason I know that I will be with my Dad again. Man, I can't wait for that day! I miss him so much!

P90X
Ah, yes. Something new has been introduced into my life... thanks to Jamie!! She is a coach at BeachBody and asked if I wanted to join her P90X group. Sure. I'm used to working out, and I'd love to have the workouts at home (nice alternative to going to the gym, and from having to pay a trainer although I miss mine dearly). What's really great is that the hubs got in on it too, so we work out together... at 5am... that would be in the morning (for those that don't know me... I am not a morning person, lol). We started with our fit test yesterday, and our first session today. 1 hour and 15 minutes later, I was sweating and shaking, and on the verge of puking (always a good sign that you've worked hard, especially after the first workout). As the day goes on I'm feeling the soreness creep in... oooh, hurts so good! hehe

Foodie
Well, there's a whole nutrition program that goes along with the workout, so I'm trying to stay as close to it as possible. We already eat pretty clean in our house so it's not like a huge transition, but I will tell you that giving up my daily oatmeal or greek yogurt with berries for breakfast was difficult. Not the giving it up part, but the swapping it for eggs. Oh, you didn't know... I don't eat eggs. Yeah, I do not eat them, since, like, my whole entire life! The only time I eat them is when they are hidden in my chorizo and egg burritos. So this whole eating 1/2 cup egg whites in a mushroom omlette is really a challenge for me. I have to take my time eating (which ends up being 30+ minutes) because if I rush, those babies are coming right back up. lol. It's been, um, interesting to say the least. lol
Previous to the new eating schedule, I made this...

and let me tell you... yum! It looked (almost) exactly like that. I didn't take a pic because (honestly) I was too hungry and couldn't wait. lol
Oooh, I also made these for the kids...

Suuuuuper easy and the kids la-la-love them!

Sharing is Caring
I read something today that really hit home for me, down deep. Something that I think I will think about for the next few days, maybe weeks. See how it affects me. Tara Whitney's blog about change. I can totally relate. I can see in my own life how this can help... help me, my family, and others. Maybe you... read it.

So Sad
This made me sad this week. My prayers are with Tosca and Bob and their family. They have shown me the way to clean eating and taking care of yourself.

Wish List
Wanted to share my recent Wish List with you. It seems I have been doing a lot of 'window' shopping. My birthday's in August people... start saving your duckets. lol

That Is All

music monday

allow me to introduce you to my cycle song...

consider me reminded, again...

This is my father in law. Ted Coen.
He died 12 days ago. Twice.
And God brought him back to us. Twice.

This man has been a second father to me since I first met him, 17 years ago. To lose him would be like losing my own father... again. I can not explain the emotional roller coaster that our family have been on the past two weeks. I am deeply grateful for the love and support of our friends and family. And I am even more grateful for the hundreds of people who had prayed for Ted, and for our family. People who don't even know us, praying for God to be with us. And he was. He touched each and every one of us, and he gave Ted back to us here on earth.

This reminder that life is so precious. Life is so short. By the miracle of God are we granted another day. This has been another life changing event for us all. I believe that God has given us this miracle to show how truly great he is, and that in times of sorrow and sadness he is still there for us, loving us and blessing us even though we are sinners and even though we don't feel worthy. God is So Incredibly Good!

Consider me reminded, again...
