fill in the blank friday

1.  The love of my life is   Jesus! And my family.

2.   Falling in love is   something spectacular.

3.  Marriage is   not always rainbows and butterflies.

4. The longest relationship I've ever had was  (IS) 17 years.

5. The key to a good relationship is  communication and humor.

6. I feel loved when   someone does something small yet thoughtful. It's the small things that add up.

7.  My favorite quote about love is   "Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge - they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I've got a sneaky feeling you'll find that love actually is all around.”

You've seen the books, heard the rave reviews, even probably caught the movie trailer. Despite all the hype I just was not interested in reading these books. Just like with the Twilight Saga I dislike being suckered into a series or show or movie or what-have-you for the sake of popular demand. Especially this Hunger Games thing. I mean, the gist of what I got was kids being forced to kill each other in need of survival. It's just so NOT my kind of thing. I like happy stories, romances, comedies. But this dang book kept coming up in my kindle as a recommended read. No matter how many times I denied it, it still came up. It was actually quite annoying. I had a free book rental for the month of February, so I decided I'd give this dumb book a try. I'd read no more than two chapters and if it didn't stick I could tell the world and obsessed HG followers to suck it.

You know what happens next.

I read the two chapters. Put the book down... for several days as a matter of fact. Finished another book (Fifth Avenue, 5 A.M.: Audrey Hepburn, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and the Dawn of the Modern Woman, a very interesting read) and couldn't get Katniss out of my head. I knew I had to go back to the book. Maybe it'd lose steam, was my hope. But I ended up finishing the book within a week. And now I'm onto book two. And worse, I went ahead and purchased all three books on my kindle! lol.

I suppose I shouldn't buck the system any longer. There are reasons why things like Twilight and Hunger Games grow so big, become so popular, etc. They are truly good stories. They are well written, they capture your attention, you melt into the stories, you laugh, and cry, and sometimes even yell at the characters (because you know, that always helps. lol) I'm gonna keep reading these fab books, if you want to read my reviews you can find me on Goodreads

I would like to thank some serious HG fans out there for ultimately convincing my subconscious that these books are must reads. They are: Miss IndieBusy Bee Lauren, and Roofresh

1.  I started my blog because   I wanted a place to write, to express myself without needing approval.

2.   One thing I love seeing on other blogs   personal stories, not always happy, but certainly real, and very human.

3.  Something I love about blogging   is the people that I have come to know, and some I have been lucky enough to meet and remain friends with.

4. A favorite blog post of mine is probably  anything about my dad.

5. Something my friends in real life know about me that I've never before mentioned on my blog is   oh geez, who knows.... that I'm a complete nutball in real life. I'm a definite goofball who likes to be a bossypants, I tend not to get along with girls and I have to be the center of attention. Is that right? Anyone in my real life got something to add! lol.

6.  My new favorite blogs to read are  haven't really added any new ones in quite some time.

7.  Some things I tend to avoid doing on my blog are   well, I try not to be a debbie downer, but I swerrr, that's what I mostly write about. I might need to change my blog name to Vent Session 101, lol.

100.  Alone Time

fill in the blank friday

1.   One of my favorite things to do when I have free time is   snuggle up and read or watch movies (preferably old ones) all day long .

2.   When I have free time I tend to   not utilize the time as well as I would like, I spend too much time trying to figure out what I want to do instead of enjoying it    .

3.  If I had an entire day completely to myself I would   take my time and drive up north to Sedona, then Flagstaff and back down  .

4.  I would prefer to spend my free time (alone or with others...)   both, but I really REALLY enjoy my time alone and quiet  .

5.  Most of my free time happens   when the hubs is hunting and the kids are at school or at a friends house .

6.  The best thing about free time is   that it's all about Me. I don't have to do anything for any body .

7.  The next time I have free time I should probably   clean my loft, or scrapbook  but instead, I'll probably    read or watch a movie .
