it's thursday. and i was just checking in with you.

I love my Thursdays. I work up here in New River (at my second job) out in the middle of the country, with horses on property, and ranch dogs, and just beautifulness and peacefulness (yeah, I made those words up. lol). It's nice break from the hustle and bustle of every day life (even though I still work, it's a different feel up here).
Anyways... the week has been weird. Monday I was totally motivated and ready for a new week. I was on track in pacing myself as to not burn out on the longer hours of work, the higher intensity of my workouts, keeping up with clean eating, and taking on an additional three kids for the week.
I did good... on Monday. Had an AWESOME Zumba class (I got my sister AND my mom to come with). My eating was spot on, my work was well-paced. I felt great. Until I laid in bed...
Sore throat, Swollen glands, Draining ears and nose...
I woke up Tuesday barely able to see out of my gooey eyes. No way! I, indeed, was sick.
Ugh.
I decided the best thing to do (as much as I truly dislike missing work, and training) was to stay home and sleep it off. Those that know me, know that I do not take medicine. I prefer natural methods of assisting your body to fight whatever it is you have. Well, I just didn't have the time or the patience for it. So... I went against my own rules and downed NyQuil all day long and slept off the ick.
Sure enough, Wednesday I was able to wake up (still a little ick, but mostly coming out of the NyQuil coma) and get to work (again, pacing myself to not overload, overwork, or stress myself out). I also made it to my training appointment (which I rescheduled from Tues to Wed.. thanks Dustin) and... got through a Spin Class (with my sister) and Zumba class (with my mom).
Needless to say, I was whooped by 9pm and straight into bed.
I feel good today. Still feel the ick, but glad to be on my slower-paced day.
On the to-do list today:
-->Stop for some much needed yummy coffee (done!)
-->Work (where I'm at now)
-->Blog (which I am since doing)
-->Grocery Shopping
-->Mail Fathers Day Card AND Circle Journals (I promisecakes, Janel and Nicole)
-->Pick Up All 5 kiddos
-->Take kids to pick out Fathers Day Cards
-->Try new Sweet and Spicy Tofu recipe (suuuper excited about this one)
-->Get all kids fed, bathed, and in bed by 9pm
-->Somewhere in the get an interval run in
-->To bed early

What does your Thursday look like?

Hope you feel better! I'm pretty anti-medicine also. I take it only if I reallllyyyyy need it. Otherwise I'm afraid my body will become too dependent on it and not be able to combat even the smallest things.

I woke up this morning and thought it was Tuesday!!! My mind is losing it!

Glad to hear you're feeling better. (I always hate getting sick in the summertime.)
My Thursday has been filled with craziness at work too. Getting the 5th graders ready for their moving up ceremony. I can't wait until school is out!
