'The Hills'-filled weekend...

The cast of the final season of The HillsMTV - Friday, April, 23, 2010, 8:23 PM

So... this weekend, I spent leisurely doing laundry and watching The Hills Marathon on MTV from beginning to the last episode of the last season. (The new 'Final' season starts on Tuesday).

I never thought I'd ever watch this show. I honestly thought it was ridiculous and a waste of time.
Maybe it still is.
But I wanted to 'veg-out' this weekend, and I did. And watching The Hills was the perfect partner to ensure that I wasn't going anywhere (I couldn't stand to miss an episode, lol).

Okay, so I did have a date with the hubs and my Bubba (we took him to see 'Diary Of A Wimpy Kid' then went and got some frozen yogurt). And we did make it to church Sunday morning. But 90% of the weekend was spent vegging out on the couch in front of the tv.

The show reminded me of the 'good-ol-days' when the cast of Beverly Hills 90210 were my true, honest-to-blog friends. I felt like I grew up with these kids. Their issues were the same issues I was dealing with. I just loved that show. In that same light, watching The Hills gave me that same familiar feeling. I mean, what they were doing on a daily basis... lunch with friends, shopping for a new outfit, beach bonfires, drama drama drama... that is kind-of exactly how I grew up (and how life can still be, lol).

I realize that some people reading this might see this as, well, however... snobby or superficial, or lazy or whatever. And for some reason, I truly hesitated about blogging it. But you know what. I really don't care. It's my blog. It's my life. And this is something that I fell into, and totally enjoyed it. So what. It's a flippin' escape from my own life. Sometimes we need that. hehe

So, what did YOU do this weekend??

Sometimes it's just easier to watch mindless television. I've totally seen every Hills episode. I'm not ashamed. :)
