bits o'tuesday

*woke up feeling a million-times-three better than yesterday. whew.

*today's work schedule (after paying bills) includes party planning! it's an 'end-of-the-year / cousin-steve's-50th-birthday' party. i'll be investing in some Paper Lanterns (like a crap-ton of them), as well as getting a menu together, lining up bartenders, a band (yay), and a really cool cake.

*had to take the kiddos to the library after work (that took all of my energy, seriously) and was so happy to see that the book i requested on hold
Cover Image
was in and waiting for me. yay!

*i also rented this
Amelie with Audrey Tautou: DVD Cover
movie from the library. so excited to watch it, hopefully tonight.

*i made the best low cal-no sugar chili. the recipe is in single serving, so multiply as needed. (i am enjoying it for lunch today scooping it with crisp, cold, and refreshing cucumber sticks. perfect partners, i think. lol)
100 grams (or 3.5 oz) lean 7% ground beef
1 tbsp minced onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup fresh chopped tomatoes
1/2 cup water
Pinch to 1/4 tsp each of Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Chili Powder, Cayenne, Oregano
Red Pepper Flakes, Salt, and Pepper to taste
--->Brown ground beef. Add onion and garlic and mix thoroughly. Add tomatoes, then water. Add all spices and mix well. Continue to mix occasionally until all liquid is absorbed. Add Red Pepper Flakes, Salt and Pepper to taste. (I like mine super spicy, so I added a large handful of red pepper flakes, but you can omit.)

*i''ve been on the hunt for a photo to have printed on canvas to go above my bed. i really want this one
from Here, but I would much prefer a landscape size (rather than this portrait size). if anyone has anything similar, please send me a link!!

*been into Salvador Dali lately. my parents have this piece
Salvador Dali, Christ of St. John of the Cross
in their home. based on this painting
Salvador Dali - Christ of St. John of the Cross, 1951 - Art Prints and Posters
and it got me thinking that i would seriously consider having this piece tattooed on me. i'm beginning to get a mental list of tattoos. hmmm. wonder what thats about.

*i didn't go to the gym yesterday, but will definitely be there today... you betcha!!

*This post from Nicole has me looking into taking a cake decorating class... like seriously (it's always been on my life's-to-do-list).

*Go check out miss Jamie's Freebie Lovie-Dovie list

*Check ya later. Check ya later!
