so... i know its a terrible picture (haven't really learned how to photograph xrays yet) but it is indeed an xray of my back... my very crooked back.
This is actually an old xray, like 3 years old. I can only imagine what it looks like now. Ugh.
As some of you know, I've been having problems with my back/neck recently. And... as some of you know, I'm not the first person to run to a doctors office for help and I usually refuse medication of any kind. But what I am quickly realizing is that this is not an issue that will just go away. In fact, this issue will not get better, more than likely it will get worse. And YES... I will confirm that what you see is Scoliosis (of the lumbar spine convexity and apex at L2, and L5-S1 facet sclerosis bilaterally left greater than right).
I guess by 'putting it out there' this means I am ready to hold myself accountable for what I need to do, treatment I need to look into. As a parent, but more-so as a mother we tend to put ourselves (even our health) last, and I am certainly guilty. The past month of living with this pain has really made me realize that something needs to be done.
First step: call a doctor. Gonna look for one now.
Thanks for listening, and thanks for your support.

Hi Jen ~ Just came across your blog from a link on Jamie's. I was surprised to see your x-ray! I work for a chiropractor so my first reaction to your post is to wonder if you've ever seen a chiro? You've probably have tried everything at this point, but I wanted to throw it out there.
Your blog is adorable...I'll be back! ;o)
As difficult as it often seems, you have to take care of you. It sounds like you're headed in the right direction. {{hugs}}
You BETTER take care of you!!! Or I will come there and lay the smackdown!!! You can't take care of your lovies if you don't care of you, missy!!!! I'm always here if you need to talk, vent, yell, whatever!!! xoxo
...and thanks for your sweet comment on my blog too! :o)
I'm not sure about any chiropractors in your area...I'm in Tempe. The franchise I work for is called HealthSource and there are several offices in the valley. I would highly recommend them (they use physical therapy and progressive rehab along with chiro.) You might also want to look into finding an office with a decompression unit.
You'll have to post about your progress from time to time, k?
Jen...I love reading your blog! You are too cute. If you have any questions about treatment for Scoliosis I work for an orthotic and prosthetic company. I specifically work in the office with the practitioner that specializes in scoliosis.
XOXO
